Trying to open Firefox results in a blank window quickly opening and reclosing.
I just installed the Firefox browser using the installer on the official website. When I attempt to open Firefox, even as administrator, the window either quickly opens and closes or doesn't open at all. I have no clue what is happening.

I found the issue, and the solution. The issue is that Microsoft Family is linked to the Microsoft account. Mozilla Firefox may be set to forbidden software by default, so any child accounts (which I am a child account) are forbidden from using Mozilla Firefox. The solution to this is by going to Microsoft Family settings and allowing the child account to use Firefox. A PC restart is required, as well as uninstalling Firefox and manually removing data folders in the AppData/Local, Roaming, and LocalLow folders. After this, reinstall Firefox and it should work. Make sure you delete them from the right user account

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

I am on a new computer, just installed Firefox, just tried to reconfigure firewalls. It still doesn't work though. How do I check my internet security program? Is that the same thing as the firewall software?
The firewall is one of your protection programs. Many systems have built-in protections.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support.
Then start Firefox.
Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

As a test, disable your protection programs.
Firefox opens fine in safe mode. Its probably the protection programs. However, even when I disable the McAfee firewalls, it still doesn't load. What safety does a Dell laptop come with?
I've tried turning off the McAfee firewalls and configuring network access. Nothing helps. I have the free trial of McAfee LiveSafe.
When I tried to restart in safe mode with networking, it wouldn't let me connect to the internet. Firefox opened, but I couldn't visit any pages to test.
Modified
In the Windows search box (bottom left of the taskbar) enter Security.
Poke around and see what is on or not.

Went down the rabbit hole, 8 hours and 3 forums later we have concluded that it isn't the antivirus (McAfee) that's causing the issue. What else is disabled by safe mode that may also be disabling FireFox?
When a computer is started in Safe Mode, only system programs are running.
You can use Windows Task Manager to see what programs are running. <Control><Shift> <Delete>
You can try shutting down something by right-clicking and select End Task. Then see if there is a difference.
Any tips as to what to shoot? I don't want to accidentally kill my computer. I've compared the processes in safe mode and normal mode, any differences don't seem to matter (I searched up the process and determined it shouldn't affect FireFox) Would you like me to send the screenshots of safe and normal mode processes?
I don't know what programs your system has running.

I figured out what is causing the issue. After doing a hard reset to factory defaults, and disabling McAfee software, Firefox worked. However, it broke again today. It is because of some weird interaction between Microsoft and Firefox. When I attempted to sign in to Microsoft to edit a word document, Firefox promptly broke , and has the same issue we discussed before. However, when I make a guest/local account with no Microsoft account linking, I can launch Firefox just fine. I'll post the same information on a Microsoft forum, or you can contact them and figure out whats going on. Just figured I'd let you know.
That was very good work. Well Done.
Please keep us posted.
