That’s the shortcut icon, but they are in the Applications menu on my Linux PureOS. It would be ok on the desktop, but not sure how to make it happen. Thanks, Chris

If you used an apt-get command to install the software, that should have added the Firefox command to the applications menu. Since it isn't there, you will have to add it manually. That may mean that you need to know the path to the executable file. Is there no one you can ask about PureOS?

Hi, I have a Librem Mini running PureOS based on Linux Debian. I downloaded the binary package of Firefox from the Firefox download page, but may not have installed it properly. I can only run the browser by going to Files, Home, double click the Firefox folder and double clicking the file Firefox. Works perfect, but would like to have the shortcut in my Applications window like all of my other apps. Can anyone help? Thanks, Chris

The Firefox tarbal from mozila.org is basically a archive and not a installer, package or setup.

You have to create a launcher on the desktop or on panel or in menu pointing to the firefox script in the Firefox folder. Could be as simple as right-click on desktop or panel etc and Create Launcher depending on what desktop window manager you are using.

If you need a Firefox icon for the launcher just look in Firefox folder /firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/

note the mentioned chrome folder has nothing to do with the separate Google chrome as in the Firefox web browser, the chrome is any visible aspect of a browser aside from the webpages themselves (e.g., toolbars, menu bar, tabs).

Note the Firefox folder needs read/write permission for the user to get Firefox updates and a easy way is to have Firefox in Home as it appears you do.
