firefox will start but will not load any web pages.

This started after I uninstalled Microsoft 365.

I downloaded new firefox and did a reinstall but this did not help. Everything was transfered bookmarks. However the bookmarks would not load, it just sit there and did noting.

I did see error but I click on before I really read it. So I do not know what it said other then "vll x.x missing. It only show it once and it has not reappeared.

Any one have any idea what was deleted on the uninstall of Microsoft 365.

Aha, sounds like this:

Sometimes program installers and uninstallers mess with certain shared Microsoft files, triggering a message related to a missing VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL file. That can cripple Firefox.

To resolve that issue, you can (re)run Microsoft's installer for the VC Runtime files:

(A) Open https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0

(B) In the first section of the article -- "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019" -- download the 64-bit installer.

(C) Run that installer and restart Windows.

Any improvement?

Thanks very much jscher2000 I followed you instructions and it worked. I have been using Firefox or Netcape (sp) when I started with a disk I got in the mail, I think that was ver 0.4. I had to use Chrome to get the answer but sometime You have to dance with the devil

Thanks again
