Can not see 5 star reviews for products at costco.com

more options

A few weeks ago the product reviews at Costco.com disappeared. I spoke with Costco today and they said they could see them and that I should switch to Google Chrome for better results. I tried turning off the privacy, no trackers on their site but it didn't help. Logging in or not didn't make any difference. AdGuard 7.6.1 is disabled on Costco's site. The 5 star rating system woks fine with Amizon and other sites. I am also using Norton 360 if that makes a difference. Any solutions?

How do I make a "fresh profile" but not erase my original one that I currently use?

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test the site.

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sept2021, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Sept2021 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to get a clean test.

Does the site work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Sept2021 will remain available for future testing.)

Make sure you are not blocking content.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Yes, the problem still exists. I have also used a program to delete any unnecessary files like tmp. files, cookies, cleaned the registery files, ect.

Be careful when using such programs as they are known to remove the wrong data from browsers.

We do not recommend using other programs to clean Firefox because they could corrupt the files. Also, the browser can clean itself.

Costco reviews are hosted by https://www.bazaarvoice.com/ and they load for me in Firefox 92.0.1 (and in Firefox 93 beta) in a fresh profile, but not in my regular profile. In my regular profile, I don't even see a request to that site coming from the page. Perhaps one of my add-ons or settings is interfering, but I don't know which one -- I've been using this profile for 4 years, so there are many, many customizations...

Thanks to both for your help. https://www.bazaarvoice.com/ loads with out any problems but I am not sure what Costco's full address path is. I am using version 92.0.1 I tried the reset your profile, test Firefox in safe boot mode, checked the system files for errors and other things but the problem still exists. I did notice that when I was in safe boot mode, the problem also existed when I tried it in M.S. Edge.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
