I was looking for an email I knew was stored in (via) Thunderbird. "Search" listed it giving "foo" in the location column as though this folder was not in Local Folders. This folder is not listed in the left hand column where (I would have thought) all the folders are listed. Using "search" I was able to move the email to a folder that was listed in the main-window left hand column. Is there a way of showing any other folders that are not branches of "Local Folders"?
