I did a dumb thing and need help recovering. I purchased the Mozilla VPN and it asked for a email. I thought it was creating an account but it never asked for a password. After the transaction it said an email was sent to that new xxx@mozilla.com email. So now I have a mozilla email that is not associated with an account, nor a password. I am stuck trying to figure out how to access that email. I did create a FireFox account using a gmail account and tried using the mozilla email address as the secondary email but it said that email was already used. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I am really sorry this happened! When registering for Mozilla VPN you have to use an existing email address, we are sorry for the misunderstanding. We are currently working on improving this flow, so it wont happen again.
