Unfortunately, most streaming services disallow usage of VPN and will block access if they detect you’re using one. There’s no current workaround for this as it’s a decision made on their end of things, not ours.

Some users have reported that changing the server location from the drop-down list fixed the issue for certain websites, so you can give this a try.

OK so I was cruising through previous threads concerning this and about sometime last year there was a thread about getting the app permissions options deal that's in Android version for the desktop version of the software. Are there any updates to that possibility? For now, I'm just going to have to close out all work stuff and leave the laptop alone so it can get the shows downloaded...

Tom's hardware had an article from earlier this month claiming Express VPN was "the best VPN" for Prime Video...which is weird. Tom seems to have fallen prey to corporate greed :) I'm currently streaming music via Prime thru the VPN so I'm assuming it has something to do with video only....

It seems I've found a workaround - Disconnected Laptop VPN & connected to my phone's hotspot with VPN turned on & I'm running wifi through the open connection at hotel on my phone. I've got Prime Video selected for split tunneling and Amazon Prime on the laptop doesn't see the VPN that way and is allowing me to continue show downloads. It's slow as molasses in the winter but it's working and I'm assuming protected...I'm no expert by any means so let me know if I'm being silly.

I would like to clarify, using your mobile device as hotspot to connect to the internet with a computer while the VPN is on, will not mask your computer's IP address.

The Mozilla VPN Split tunneling (App permissions) feature lets you use the VPN with specific apps. Currently, this feature is available for Android, Windows and Linux devices. If you are using a Windows10 or Linux computer, select your browser through the App permission feature so you can regain access to the blocked content on your Amazon Prime service.

Thanks I figured it was too easy but my simple mind is still confrused...I'm not using my browser to connect to Amazon Prime. I'm using the app & if the only work around is opening up browser permissions then no and I'll deal with only downloading content on trusted networks. I'm at sea most of the time and we can't stream entertainment over the VSAT so I try to stock up before we get underway. Thanks for dealing with my ignorance.
