HCL Lotus to Thunderbird migration

more options

Hello!

My work email came configured to receive emails through Thunderbird. A friend told me about HCL Notes (Lotus Notes, or IBM notes) and I decided to try it out for a while, and so migrated to that.

After some time I realized I like Thunderbird better and want to migrate back to it, meaning to receive emails normally in it and all.

Does anybody know a way to do that smoothly?

Thanks!

Hello there psansoldo. We have read your message. We try to help you.

On what system do you have these programs? Your operating system?

A window machine,oke.

There is no on or off button in this Thunderbird software to disable it s using software Lotus.A beter way is to delete the program.

If you not want to delete the Lotus software. And your Lotus is installed in Thunderbird. You can tell Thunderbird to not recieve or check for new emails anymore. But folders just will appear again on your device. Better is it to remove the account from Thunderbird. If you like to add a new account to Thunderbird just do that and add a new one to it’s Software.

Here in this article : How to remove a account from Thunderbird.

Open Thunderbird. Click the Thunderbird Menu icon (three horizontal bars) at the upper-right of the Thunderbird pane. Hover your cursor over Options and click Account Settings. Select the account you wish to delete and click Account Actions. Click Remove Account.

Just be aware that when you remove an account all messages will go with it. If there are messages in that old account you wish to keep, move them to folders under Local Folders before you remove the account.

Hello there again.

For just migrating one to the other. Use coping the Mbox to the other mail program. If this is possible.

Here you can read in this article how to do that.

Just download the import export tool ng. https://addons.thunderbird.net/nl/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

Go to Thunderbird choose menu choose tools Menu choose the import export tool. Choose to go to import Mbox- file.

Choose import directly one or more Mbox files. Go to the location where you store your Mbox files. And load them to Thunderbird.

The import export -tool was the preduocer of import export ng add- on. The first one is out of date.

It s a kind of similair use how this add- on works.
