I've been using Firefox for quite a few years . . . after these past couple of updates my PC is running so slow it is almost to the point of becoming unusable.

How do I check which programs are running at 'startup' and which programs are running in 'background'?

I can't say that it is Firefox causing this problem but I'd sure like to fix it.

Something is up that won't allow me to 'search' from the lower task bar
