Installation of v 89

I can't seem to install vsn 89. I have vsn 87.0 currently and Netflix won't run without an upgrade. Also, Amazon Prime requires Widevine, which requires a FF upgrade, so I need to upgrade. The best I have been able to do is download the tar file and run Extract on it. According to the file viewer, the latest version of FF is loaded, but when I run the program, it's still v. 87, not 89. The simplest method given is to open the 'About Mozilla Firefox' window and the downloader will run. But there is no downloader running when I do that. I would really appreciate it if someone would supply instructions that actually work.

BTW: I've looked for them, and I don't find the 'required' library items. But if these are truly required and I don't have them, how has FF been running at all these past months? I concluded that either they are installed but I couldn't find them, or they aren't really required at all. I've also tried Flatpack and it doesn't work either.
