Using HTTPS/SSL Proxy with Firefox

Hello Community,

I have one question/problem regarding configuration of HTTPS Proxy. I have HTTPS Proxy (actually 2 of them, Squid and MITM) one of which I would like to use with FF. This is where the things are start to get interesting.

When I use PAC file which has statement which directs things over HTTPS proxy:

return "HTTPS my.proxy.local:443"

Everything works...

However, when I use FF Network Settings and enter either of them into the field SSL/HTTPS Proxy, only thing which I get is "Secure connection failed"... I tried all constellations of fields in there, but no luck.

Can somebody tell me why is it like this? Is this a bug or standard behaviour? If this is a standard behaviour, what is the difference between GUI and PAC settings.

Thank you in advance, Neven
