do they work if you restart Thunderbird from the help menu with addons disabled.

no, but when I created a test email filter, it deleted it, but this one and others like it it does not. From is: shipment-tracking@amazon.com, gxerwqz@laicos.gionan.org

Sorry but I simply do not understand that reply. nowhere that I am familiar with can you comma separate email addresses in the filter dialog and have it work.

Ok, I think spammers are doing that to circumvent filtering. I will remove the commas and try that.

To add multiple addresses to a From filter, click the box with the + to add another line and set 'Match any of the following' (see picture).

See the from address on what I posted previously. I believe shipment-tracking@amazon.com is a good address, but gxerwqz@laicos.gionan.org is not. It is a spam address. I don't want to be filtering good addresses. Not sure how much longer I am going to be using Thunderbird, getting a ton of spam. Thanks for the input.

It's very unlikely that the gionan address is real or repeated, so filtering on the exact address is probably futile. Look for a consistent string in the headers and then filter with the condition 'contains'. You should also apply the spam filters performed by the mail provider, as these are often much better than TB's Junk Controls.

Thanks to all with input. I think I have made some headway on the spam battle.
