Someone opens many tabs undesired
On my smartphone I notice that every day some 20 new tabs are opened with new pages without my initiative. Even when I don't use Firefox suddenly Firefox starts up with new pages in new tabs. Most of the time I have never earlier visited these pages. Each day I delete all these tabs again. I have already emptied the cash, deleted the app and reinstalled it, but nothing helps. I also installed the Avast antivirus app and scanned my device, but nothing helps. It is very irritating. I have a Motorola Moto e5 with Android 8.0.0. Does anyone has an idea how to get rid of this?

Are these tabs synnced from another copy of Firefox?
No, this is a stand alone copy of Firefox on my Android phone. I'm an enthusiastic user of Firefox, also on my Linux desktop PC, but there is no relationship between both copies. The problem is only on the phone.
Have you installed any other apps on your Android device?
Yes. But now I know that it is not a Firefox problem. I deleted Firefox and activated Google Chrome as browser. Then the problem continued on Chrome. Then I deleted Chrome and installed Opera as browser. An now the problem continues on Opera. I don't know what to do.
I might still be able to help. What other apps have you installed on your Android device?
Thank you Seburo. As you know there are already many standard apps on an Android device. And in addition I added some over time. I don't know what you are looking for, but there are too many apps to mention them all individually here. I can mention some categories, such as weather apps, banking apps, TV provider apps, mailing apps, an anti-covid app, restaurant apps, superstore apps, navigation apps, DigiD app, Google Authenticator app, central heating app, VPN app, mobile security app, solar panel monitor app, backup apps, newspaper apps, broker apps, mobile provider app, public transport apps, and Opera, and many more. Hope you have some lead now.
What I think is happening is that another app on your device is opening those tabs - I have seen it happen before myself. Chances are it is an app from a lesser known app developer.
Thank you Seburo. I'm going to delete a number of apps and hope that I delete the bad app in this way. Thanks for your kindness.
No problem, glad I could help.
