Hi, I am having a few issues with mail in Thunderbird: 1.I can't change the footer in html - I set it, but after reopening the program, the previous settings remain. The ok button is not displayed for me - i.e. I cannot confirm the change. How can I fix it? 2. I can't add another email account. I have 8 e-mail accounts set up and when I add another one appears, downloads messages, sends and everything works fine. This account is missing when the program is reopened. 3. popstate.dat files appeared in one of the email accounts. There were a lot of them, so I removed them because they were bothering me. Unfortunately, along with these files, e-mails from 2018 to 2019 (i.e. from the founding of Thunderbird until the end of 2019) disappeared from files. Moreover, even though the account is set to POP3, the e-mails also disappeared from the server. Is there any possibility of their recovery? Was it a mistake to delete popstate files? What should be done with them so that they do not appear under folders in the e-mail? 4. After deleting popstate files, when I send mail, there is a problem with saving the message: There is not enough space on the disk to download new messages. Try to delete old messages, empty the trash, then organize your mail folders and download the mail again". Where and how can I set this message not to appear? I set "use manual cache management", but I cannot confirm it with the ok button (because I do not have the button in the view) and when I open the program again, I have different (old) settings.

Do you have any program like CCleaner running on your computer? The type of program that cleans up file? If yes, then you must make Thunderbird profile folders exempt. Do not allow those types of programs anywhere near Thunderbird.

What version of Thunderbird are you using?

re :1.I can't change the footer in html - I set it, but after reopening the program, the previous settings remain. ....The ok button is not displayed for me - i.e. I cannot confirm the change. What 'footer' ? Are you talking about 'signatures' ? If yes, are you making changes in 'Account Settings' for account where it says 'Signature Text' or are you selecting to add a html file ?

If you are using the current version and Account Settings opens in a new Tab, there is no OK button.

re :3. popstate.dat files appeared in one of the email accounts. There were a lot of them, so I removed them How exactly did you 'remove' them ? Did you exit Thunderbird, access profile folders and remove the files from the pop account?

re:Unfortunately, along with these files, e-mails from 2018 to 2019 (i.e. from the founding of Thunderbird until the end of 2019) disappeared from files. Nothing to do with popstate.dat files. They just keep a record of what has been downloaded, so they do not need to download again.

When you say ' e-mails from 2018 to 2019' : did you have them stored in a folder so all emails from 2018 where in a folder called '2018' and that '2018' folder has disappeared ?

re :After deleting popstate files, when I send mail, there is a problem with saving the message: Not connected. Nothing to do with deleting a popstate.dat file.

It's more likely you do not have sufficient space available. Have you emptied the 'Trash' folder ? if no then empty it. Have you emptied the Junk folder? if no then empty it. Have you compacted the 'Junk' and the 'Drafts' folders? If no then compact those folders. When was the last time you compacted folders?

re :Moreover, even though the account is set to POP3, the e-mails also disappeared from the server. All pop accounts download from server and the server deletes all popped emails. If you want emails left on server then you need to set the settings : Account Settings > Server Settings Select checkbox 'Leave messages on server'
