After updating to Firefox 86 it always crashes at launch:

ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 14439 ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...

And Crash Report dialog appears. This is the "Details" dialog content:

Safe mode also crashes. Headless mode is the only way I found to make it not to crash.

Thanks in advance!!

Chosen solution

I could not set gfx.color_management.mode in about:config page as firefox 86 crashes just at launch.

Saw from crash report information that problem was related with bug 1694670, solved yesterday in 87.b03.

I installed 87.0b3 and everything works again, the whole profile recovered (was not the case downgrading to 85). Checked the value of gfx.color_management.mode and it is set to 2 currently.

Thank you so much.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Can't get Firefox to open, so doing the hard way, but suggested folder "Crash Reports/submitted" does not exist even if Crash Report dialog says it has submmitted succesfully. There is a "Crash Reports/pending" folder with new ".extra" and ".dmp" files each time a new report is supposed to have been submitted.

Just installed Firefox 85 and was able to send the reports from it in the "about:crashes" window:

That is a problem with QCMS (Quick Color Management System).

Are you using a custom color profile for your display monitor ?

You can set the gfx.color_management.mode pref to 0 on the about:config page to disable Color Management. You need to close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.
