ZOOM links not working properly

So when i go to click on zoom links in firefox, it opens the webclient of zoom (website that says join meeting and or download here if prompt is not shown) and opens the zoom app. BUT that is it, it does not actually join the meeting on the zoom app i have to manually prompt the download now link, or copy and paste the link into the zoom join option. Why cant I just click the zoom link and have it automatically join the meeting without needing to prompt the download option or manually having to enter the zoom meeting id?
