I was advised to refresh Firefox as it's slow to start, but I'm concerned that all my downloads will be deleted. Is this true, as many of my downloads are very important to me.

Chosen solution

I posted above what refresh will do. Your downloads should not be affected.

Refreshing Firefox -- easily fix most problems

If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks and open tabs. Everything else, like user settings and add-ons, are removed. Note: Refresh saves your old profile to the desktop in a folder called Old Firefox.

Dear Fred McD

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply to my query, but what I wanted to know specifically is whether or not my downloads will be deleted if I refresh Firefox. Are you able to help?
