Making Firefox behave more like IE
Hi everyone, I downloaded Firefox last April, but have continued to use Internet Explorer as a primary browser until quite recently, with Firefox being a solid second. Now, I'm ready to make the transition fully, but I have a couple of questions. 1. In IE, I liked the fact that webpages and websites were nested within each other, and within a date range. Firefox does do some of this, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make it behave more like IE? As an example of what I want to happen, let's say I've opened the history for the last seven days. In IE, I would get a list of websites, then I'd have to expand each individual website in order to see what pages on that website I visited. In Firefox, this is one long list, sorted alphabetically by page title, regardless of whether the pages are associated with a particular website. Is there a way I can change this? 2. I've gotten used to the fact that in IE, I can enter multiple URLs, and they each open in their own tab when I launch the program. I have five that I visit every day, and would like them to all open at once when I open Firefox, but when I tried adding a second link to my homepage, it didn't like it. Is there a way to do this in Firefox?

1. This is different in Firefox. 2. You have to use this sign: | as a delimiter.
Thanks for that tip on question 2, worked like a charm! So, is there no way to adjust the way history displays?
Anyone? Is there really no way to nest history in websites as IE displays? I would really like to be able to have a list of websites I visited, then expand one in order to see what I visited on that site like IE does. How do I get Firefox to behave this way? Also, I'm having an unexpected problem with multiple homepages. I have the following home pages set in Firefox in this order:
- Gmail
- Radio Insight
- Radio Discussions
When I bring up Firefox, Gmail comes up as the page on top as expected, and when I hit control+W to close that tab, it goes to Facebook, Radio Insight, and Radio Discussions as expected. However, if I hit control+tab to cycle through the list of home pages, starting from Gmail, Radio Discussions, Radio Insight, then Facebook. How do I get the control+tab list to display the order in which the pages are coming up?
For #1, there is something a bit like that in the History Sidebar. You can press Ctrl+H to call that up.
Next to the search box, click "View" to open a little menu, then click "By Date & Site" to get a expandable list from the date ranges to the site addresses to the individual pages.

On the Options page, turn off "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order". One way to find that is:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box at the top of the page, type CTRL and Firefox should filter to the "Tabs" section and highlight Ctrl in the preference you want to switch.
