How Do I Get FireFox to Open a Link in a New Window

I feel ridiculous but I have always set FireFox to open a new window when I clicked on a link. For some reason it stopped doing that today. It just follows the link in the existing window. I cannot find the option to get the old action. Searches bring up methods from many obsolete versions. Even this site brings up over 2800 hits but I can't find the one I need.

You can check some prefs on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".

Normal Links:

  • browser.link.open_newwindow
    1:current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;

JavaScript Links:

  • browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction
    0:divert always; 1:divert never; 2:divert no features

This image shows how things were set originally. Is this the closest I can get?

Thanks.

You can possibly set browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction = 0 to divert all JavaScript links to a new window.

I am trying that but I don't know what to expect.
