Help please, I run 2 profiles in Thunderbird, one business & one personal. In the personal profile I have multiple sub folders to sort emails, a recent "update" removed some, not all of my folders. When I look at my profile I can see the .msf file and the "blank" file associated with the missing folders, but when I try and recreate a folder of the same name as one of the missing folders it says "folder already exists" How can I reinstate these missing folders? clearly they are still "around"

re :When I look at my profile I can see the .msf file and the "blank" file associated with the missing folders,

I presume by 'blank' you mean the mbox file which has no extension that has a good size indicating it has some emails in it. Please let me know if those missing folders were in a subfolder.

Try this: Exit Thunderbird Access the profile folder as before. delete only the *.msf files (indexing files)

Start Thunderbird.

re: Personal mail account

Are you talking about a Pop or Imap mail account? I'm assuming it is a pop account, so correct me if wrong.

Access the profile folder as before. Access the mail account name folder Make sure 'View' is set as 'Details' and 'size' column is showing.

As you mention you have subfolders, you should also see folders with a .sbd extension. Each folder with a .sbd extension should have a same name mbox file, so I need to check this is the case for you. Post image(s) so it shows all the files and folders in that mail account name folder. Tell me the names of any folder you do not see in the Folder Pane.

If you see the top level folders, but not their subfolders: Open each *.sbd folder to see contents - post image showing all the contents of each one.
