new Firefox missing bookmarks, old Firefox disappeared

changed background to black, could no longer see page. downloaded 82--- missing some bookmarks(tried importing bookmarks). opened previous FF icon--- still black, but had missing bookmarks. tried copying and pasting said bookmarks to 82 , Safari, hard drive-- no dice. went to bed, leaving computer on. woke up, no old icon (or bookmarks!)
