Firefox sending/transferring to other websites

more options

Hi, I rarely use Firefox and on this PC I only access websites for work and have full antivirus since PC installation.

See attached screenshots...

Since few days ago Firefox suddenly started being slow and on some websites like www.3dcontentcentral.com (a 3D CAD website) when I type a search instead of providing results practically immediately as it did until a few days ago, the following happes:

1) it takes ages to get the results

2) in the bar at the bottom left of Firefox (where it shows what Firefox is doing in real time) it shows "transferring to...." and it scrolls through MANY different websites which have nothing to do with the website I am on (i.e. 3dcontentcentral.com), such websites includ Facebook and others with random characters. That does not happen with any other browser. AND I never accessed Facebook from this browser anyway and 3dcontentsentral.com has no reason to connect to Facebook or the other websites shown att he bottom.

That happens even if I run Firefox with ad-ons disabled. Only Adons I have are Duck-Duck and Ad-Block Plus

BTW, the only thing I have done was install duck-duck few days ago but the idea of duck duck. If anything that should have made the system more secure not less... :o

As mentioned I am always extremely careful to never click on any unknown or even remotely suspiscious website and aso have VPN and full business antivirus.

What is going on?

Thank you for all feedback :)

Also, for that website (3dcontentcentral.com) which I use very often, it doesn't give any results anymore when doing a search even for items that should return thousands of search results...

I reinstalled Firefox completely but nothing has changed.

I tried running it in safe mode, and still no change...

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Sites like Outbrain (in your second screenshot) provide clickbait content to numerous sites around the web. It's a way publishers can maybe make a little extra coin if you scroll down far enough to see and get tempted by those teasers.

There are some weird inconsistencies. Like this search said there are no matches:

https://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Search.aspx?arg=pipes&PageSize=10&SortBy=match

But if I use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page bypassing the cache, or click in the address bar and press Alt+Enter to reload the address in a new tab, the results appear.
