Android App
I'm looking to set up a more secure email account than gmail. Right now I am looking at going with protonmail but I am a firefox user and heard about thunderbird and im trying to find out if there are plans for a thunderbird app for android and if so when would this be released. I would also like to know if I would be able to contect to the address book with my phone as I can with gmail? Thank you, -david

There has been talk of TB for Android or iOS, but nothing has proceeded to even the early stages of development, so I think this is unlikely. You can sync the TB address book with network contacts such as the ones in gmail and other providers, using add-ons (TbSync, gContactSync, Cardbook) or directly with CardDAV.
