I uninstalled and installed Firefox after it stopped responding as my default Thunderbird browser. It appears to be installed normally but it does nothing when I enter a search item. For example, when I ask Firefox to find bird in the Google field, nothing happens; when I enter bird in the URL field, the response is merely

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=bird

So please someone tell me how to get Firefox back into operation.
