TB 78.2.2 Last quarter of email pane is blank (Mac)

more options

Hi there,

the other day I got the new version of TB and the one thing that stood out is that the bottom part of the email preview pane is blank, like there is an attachment to be shown, but no attachment is present.

Here you can see what it looks like. https://www.dropbox.com/s/00ew7de6a61ac ... 2.png?dl=0 I cannot alter the size of the blank area, but if an attachment is present, everything looks normal.

If I access TB in safe mode the problem disappears, and so does if I create a new profile. Removing my 3 extensions doesn't help (I have not removed my 2 dictionaries). I have not modified TB in any way. It is a bog standard installation.

I have already tried removing "Hardware acceleration", but it has made no difference.

Where could I look?

Thanks in advance ;)

PS

I have an iMac with El Capitain. Everything is up to date.

andrea,

Your link is broken. Also, did you report this somewhere else? I ask because I am certain I have seen this reported elsewhere in the last couple days - where the bottom half of pane was blank.

FWIW, someone else suggested I pass this on "Are you viewing email in Original HTML, Simple HTML or Plain Text?"

Hi Wayne, not on this board, but on MozillaZine. I had tried all three options, but they have made no difference.

День сумо, as you can see only the bottom part of the email pane is dead. The rest of the pane shows the email normally. Does your article still apply?

Not sure what happened to my reply... Thankfully it was in my clipboard. Hope it is not a duplicate.

Hello there Andrea33.

if you only have this occurrence in Thunderbird inbox I assume. okay, I can give you advice on the general use of email boxes with this result that the parts of your inbox appears to remain blank or is this the phenomenon that only occurs with people who regularly email you with Thunderbird, or it only occurs on the spot for junk mail itself, it also appears that it can be set to no longer be marked as good and remain blocked.

Try to disable the virus scanner and then download the same file mail again or get it in the inbox? If this does not work.

try switching a mail connector off and on if you don't have it then try deleting the full version of Thunderbird and reinstalling it. See if it responds in the right way.

If neither of these does not help, try the method described above to block the empty mails. And or to have it placed in a created folder where unwanted mail can be sent. You can also use Thunderbird's filter settings.

Mail me back after trying this.

Hi День сумо,

I suspect I have not managed to explain well enough what my problem is. After upgrading to 78.2.2 everything works well except for one thing. When I look at an email in the preview pane or if I open it in a new tab, the bottom part (where attachments would normally go) is blank. See this sample email. The rest works fine and this phenomenon is not dependent on account or folder.

Just to make it clearer, this is a message with an attachment (taken from the spam folder): Check out message with attchement. As you can see, it is as if TB thinks there is always an attachment, but when it cannot find one, it leaves the bottom part of the window blank. The size of the "blank portion" is always the same, independently of the size of the window itself.

Also, note that when I do have an attachment I can make that part of the window bigger, but not smaller. See this email with attachement. Lastly, note that if I make the attachment window bigger, it will stay bigger even when I open an email with no attachment, so the two are definitely linked.

I am on a Mac so there is no antivirus.

Hope this clears things out.

Hello there Andrea33

It could be your add ons that are not properly updated I read an article with the same occurring topic there it was along with the errors that the screen could not be made bigger and smaller but the date and time were confused

It would be cover add-ons that were not updated.

You can also read this article. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Download_launches_blank_window

there should be two extensions there that are not present unfortunately I'm going to look for a replaced something,

Hello there Andrea33

Okay,I did read your message. Do you have add ons for conversations or something like that installed?

Are time and dates still working? It may be these add-ons that are not up to date. See if you have these. Yes, regarding making the windows bigger and smaller, I think the same common topics are that time and date are incorrect from another article.
