New Firefox for Android will not open/run

I have tried a few times to load the new version of Firefox for Android onto my cell phone. It will not open and/or run. Screen goes blank for couple seconds then back to the home screen. Firefox has been set as default browser. Android version 6. Kernel version 3.18.19+ asd@asd-B85M-DS3H-A #2. Thanks for any help Rick Cooper
