"302 Moved" error on opening links in external Wikipedia app

I am using the latest Firefox on android 10. I have it set to open supported links in external apps. When I open a Wikipedia link from google search, the Wikipedia app opens and goes to the correct page but Firefox also opens a web page with a "302 Moved" error. This seems like a big because when I do the same on Chrome, it doesn't get this error; it just stays on the same search webpage which makes sense.
