Cannot make Shortcut Text Susbstitution work from my Mac on OSX Catalina

I attach an example of the text substitutions I use extensively on my Mac, However when I am using Firefox 80.0.1 none of those automatic text replacements works. I type any of those shortcuts (e.g. ebval in the top example in the image) but the replacement text that should appear does not appear, there is no reaction on the Firefox browser.

Could someone kindly help me make it work? Much appreciated thanks
