Firefox became infected

My Firefox became infected with the Blue Screen freeze, I think through a photo icon I clicked on as a link. After trying to figure out what to do, searching for help via my phone, I finally powered off the machine, then restarted it in safe mode. That worked and I'm using it right now.

I want to do two things: (1) know for sure that the infection is out of my system and (2) open the Firefox I'm using, now beyond safe mode.

Is there still an infected Firefox file on my computer? If so, how can I remove it? Do I do that by restarting it without keying safe mode, or is there a specific process for killing the bug? How do I know when I can open without safe mode safely, without triggering the infection?
