Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

There is no problem FredMcD. It's only when I am typing a text in Thunderbird that I would like to be able to see where the formatting is. IE if I wanted to see where a new paragraph starts, there is a possibility in Word to be able to see this by switching on the "show formatting" button. Sorry I can't be more clearer. Thank you for any help you can give.

I think you should use Word to create the message. Then Copy it into Thunderbird.
