</p><p>I assume Firefox is not running at that time so we can rule out a Firefox file lock.
</p><p>Does it make any difference if you rename the existing file first instead of trying to replace it in one step? For example: right-click the current logins.json &gt; Rename something like loginsOLD.json.
</p><p>If Windows says you still need permission to do that and doesn't offer an easy way to do that, maybe right-click the file &gt; Properties &gt; Security tab. Click the Advanced button. Near the top of the new dialog, are you the "Owner"? If not, try to make yourself the owner.
