For years my TB screens was 'light'. This morning it went 'dark'. I probably hit something I didn't intend. Tools->Add Ons->Themes->Light or Default isn't getting me back

I'm running 68.10.0. Without warning, and without a deliberate action, though I may have hit something inadvertently, my screen switched to dark mode this morning. I tried to switch to 'Default' theme, and 'Light' theme with no change to the actual setting.

I also tried unloading and reloading TB with again, no change.

I'm entirely frustrated.... and I'm stuck for what to try next.

Help!

In W10 Settings, Personalization, Colors, is the default app mode Dark or Light? If it's Dark, switch to Light.

I did make that change, and it lightened the task bar, and maybe the blue background. It didn't do a thing for ThunderBird.

Are you sure you changed the default app mode, not the default Window mode in Colors? If you changed the app mode to Light and are using the default theme, what happens in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB)? Note that some 'themes' are now under Extensions rather than Themes.

Well this was good, as Safe Mode does show me what I want to see. I always used TB as installed, and didn't play with add-ons. It was good for me.

So, I went back and held Shift again, this time trying to click both boxes and restart. TB didn't restart. I had to quit or restart in safe mode.

So, I only hit "Disable all add-ons" and again hit Make Changes and Restart. It's ignoring my selection.

Then I hit only "Reset Toolbars and controls" and then Make Changes and Restart. It accepted my choice, but I'm still stuck with the dark screen.

Conclusion: I cannot disable all add-ons, and something is probably turned on in the add-ons that I didn't select. I don't know what I should do next.

I just checked... I don't show any add-ons in the upper right hand menu selection. None!
