Since Flash is going to be EOL'ed by Dec 2020, wanted to understand what would be the impact to Flash applications. Would it just not load in a browser or would the user be greeted with a message simply saying that the Flash plugin failed?

My customers would like to get a good idea of what would happen to our product which has Flash components.

Thanks.

Chosen solution

Nothing would happen. Flash just wouldn't work.

The ultimate demise of Flash began 4 or 5 years ago. Developers who rely upon Flash have had that long to prepare for the EOL. They were encouraged to rewrite their applications to use HTML5.

Content that uses Flash will simply be ignored, just like happens when other no longer supported plugins are being used.

This will then apply to Shockwave Flash plugin as well:

Can I still use the older version of firefox to access my local flash application?
