Sharepoint checkout not only in Read Only Mode for excel/word docs

I am using latest version of Firefox on Windows 10 machine. We use sharepoint to store files...I am not able to checkout any files using firefox browser. It works with Edge, Chrome and IE ofcourse. Is there any setting I need to configure to make this happen?

Everytime I open a file from TFS, it opens in Read Only mode. If I do the same using edge/chrome/IE, the file opens in excel/word with a checkout button on the ribbon on top. However this option is not visible when using firefox. Please help
