Cumbersome sign in after loading a new version of Firefox

more options

I have had Firfox as my primary browser for years and recently had to reload due to slowness, etc. Since reloading it is very cumbersome on the sign in as have to sign in with email and get a six digit code emailed to me to sign in. There must be a glitch and I am sure there is another way other than giving a code every time sign in . Would appreciate some support in this.

Kindly,

Dennis

You will need to get the code when you first sign into Firefox. That's a security feature.

However, the fact that you need to sign into Firefox each time suggests to me that you have made the same mistake that many Mac users make when installing Firefox.

If you run Firefox directly from the downloaded firefox.dmg file, your settings and other data will get erased each time you start Firefox. You need to copy the firefox.app file from within the DMG file to the Applications folder on your computer and then open Firefox using that file, not the DMG.

See How to download and install Firefox on Mac.

Hope this helps.
