Re-downloading emails from Gmail
I access my gmails without logging in directly to Gmail by using Thunderbird. My backup has corrupted though and I wondered is it possible to redownload all the old emails to thunderbird? I tried marking them as not read but that seems to have no effect. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance!

If it's a POP setup, you can try deleting or renaming the popstate.dat file:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Popstate.dat
If it's IMAP, the folder will re-sync and download the messages if you right-click the folder, Properties, Repair Folder.
Hi Thanks for that, but I opened popstate file to find this inside:
- POP3 State File
- This is a generated file! Do not edit.
Nothing else at all.
It's fine. Gmail has a command in settings to... 1. Status: POP is enabled for all emails Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on Disable POP
I ticked the first one and it seems to be working in a limited way.
