Where is the link to turn off firefox updates. It seems you have removed it. If I don't receive an answer from you by next week, I'll assume your answer to this problem of corrupting desktop settings, implies that I should find a different browser than firefox.

Hi

What settings are being corrupted?

In my experience, it is unlikely that Firefox would cause such corruption, but I am intrigued to understand more about what you seeing.

Firefox updates are too many and too often. They change my desktop settings; thus I can't rely on firefox stability. Why can't I preview updates and then decide if they are essential and work well with windows 7 pro? I use windows 7 pro because my email address is connected to my internet provider. I have strong dislike for gmail for lack of privacy reasons and thunderbird is under firefox control which makes it suspect for constant changes and my lack of trust. Where in firefox options can I turn off or review their updates and changes. I noticed they removed that choice; again their need for ABSOLUTE control and lack of user trust.

If I can't resolve this issue I will have no other choice than to buy a high quality VPN service and be done and terminated with firefox constant problem solving issues.

I like using duckduckgo desktop, however, most of its search info is very old and does not provide dates and basically totally useless to this current user. If I need to drop firefox for a different browser, please let me know and not "skirt" my questions... I'll await your reply to my questions which I hope you will bring to the attention of the "Firefox serious problem solving crew." ...rjk

How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/

And sectionalizing is the cornerstone of all diagnostic processes. So, let's approach this problem, one part at a time, and get it fixed.
