Dear support team,

I really hope you have some ideas how to fix the following problem. In the recent couple of weeks some of my colleagues got Windows 10 x64 Updates (version 1903 as well as 1909) and after the update was installed they wanted to start Thunderbird x86 (for example v68.0), it opened and crashed immediately thereafter. After installing the latest available stable-build of Thunderbird everything worked fine again.

I just collected the following crash ID on a computer from earlier today: bp-0240a9d2-12da-4c7e-870f-6b4ce0200401

After the crashes got more I tried to supply the latest Thunderbird build via GPO. I downloaded v68.6.0 and put on the file server and created a single GPO for it. Everything was fine, the GPO was accepted and the client installed the GPO but then I went to the system control of WIndows and I saw that v60.0 was installed on the client. And of course Thunderbird crashed. :-(

Do you guys have any idea what went wrong or do you need more informations from me?

Thank you very much for any kind of help!

Your crash ID is from TB 60.0. Therefore I'd first upgrade to the latest version (currently 68.6.0). The easiest way to do that is using the the built-in updater: App Menu button - Help - About Thunderbird

I can't help with the GPO stuff.

The crash report is almost a year old, but it indicates ESET Security is installed on the affected system. If that's still the case, running in Windows safe mode will test if startup apps such as ESET cause the crashes. It's generally recommended to exclude the TB profile folder from AV scanning, and disable scanning of secure connections.

Okay, thanks for the replies so far. I'll check it out as far as ESET is concerned.

Do you guys have any idea what about my GPO problem? This doesn't make much sense to me, that's why I'm a bit confused to be honest. :-D
