I have had a Chromebook for over a year now, and I have been using Chrome and Firefox. Recently I haven't been able to open Firefox at all. When I click on the icon, all it does is show a "spinning thinking wheel" (I really don't know how else to describe it). The same happens with Firefox Focus. Currently, I am running Chrome Version 81.0.4044.42 (Official Build) beta (64-bit). Please help

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to see if that resolves the issue?
