https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1251466 ( I have the last post on this page) This solution does NOT WORK for Firefox 73.0.1 (and probably later). The display, when I get to "Show All Bookmarks". and click "Bookmarks Menu" is NOT the same as what Firefox displays in Bookmarks/Favorites. I see only a SINGLE separator on this display, Where I see a double separator when I click the bookmarks while browsing. For the uploaded image: On the left, following my instructions for the referenced question. On the right, the favorites menu while browsing. For the Browsing bookmarks (right), you see a double separator between/below the in/out box icon of "Other Bookmarks" and above the Folder icon "Other Bookmarks". On the left you see only a Single separator or none in the same place.

I am using a double (mismatched) monitor setup. 1600x900 Portrait orientation to the left and 1920x1080 Landscape orientation as the main monitor. This creates some problems for editing screenshots. I ended up with duplicates when I imported saved bookmarks onto a newly downloaded Firefox on this new computer.

You need to remove the separator at the top that shows in the screenshot because that is the second separator you see. Firefox itself adds a separator at the top of the Bookmarks Menu list, so no need to add one yourself.

Did you possibly import an HTML backup to have duplicate entries ?

OK that will probably solve it. I would like to see the search box more prominent, instead of showing up only after scrolling down the page.

I'm not sure what you mean with search box. In the Library you have the search bar in the top right corner as you can see in the screenshot in your question.

The penal you see at the bottom is not a search bar, but is a detail panel that shows the properties like name and location of the currently selected item in the left panel or in the right panel and that allows to edit the properties.
