I really want containers. That and ublock origin (which already is in Nightly, so good there) are the only two add-ons I need.

I'd like a granular script-allower as well, something like noscript, for firefox preview, but that is not as big a priority.

In fact what I /really/ want is a noscript feature that is integrated with containers. I'm posting this on the community forum for Firefox Preview but this feature request would apply to all Firefox browser types that allow containers.

Create a feature that works very similar to noscript (or, I suppose uMatrix, but I prefer the UI of noscript). By default, let the user make script-allowance as strict or as lax as she wants for browsing without using a container. After that, she can adjust rules. When on a site she can click the script icon and see/set what is blocked/allowed in a single section called Global rules. These global rules would then apply to all containers as well, but each container can also have container-specific rules that add to, or override, the global rules. When on a site within a container there, on clicking the script icon, there would now be two sections. A top section of Global rules (with strikethroughs when rules were overwritten) and then a bottom section of Container-Specific rules.

E.g. In global rules you deny all scripts from facebook.com. Thus, when browsing outside of a container to a site that uses facebook.com scripts, these scripts fail. You tap/click icon for scripts in the URL bar, it shows all global rules that apply to that page, and if the page tries to run Facebook scripts, it shows facebook.com as blocked. However, you create a container for Facebook. In that container you then allow the Facebook scripts. When on a facebook.com page in the Facebook container you tap the scripts icon. In the above Global section you see facebook.com as blocked but with a cross-out (as the rule is overwritten). In the below Container-Specific section you see that facebook.com is allowed.

That would be extremely welcome addition for all firefox browsers.

Hi

Thank you for your feedback and interest in what we are doing with Firefox Preview.

Our developers are working very hard to bring new features to the browser, but to make sure that your feedback is captured, I have opened this feature request:
