My old computer went bad. I am now using Windows 10. I was using Thunderbird with no problem before. Now, however, I can't get Thunderbird to link to Windows Live. I tried the settings in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-hotmail

Owl and Exquilla are commercial add-ons for accessing Exchange accounts in TB. You don't need them if you just want to add a consumer Hotmail/outlook.com/live/msn IMAP account to TB. Use these settings:

incoming IMAP server: outlook.office365.com on port 993, SSL/TLS, normal password authentication, User Name = email address.

outgoing SMTP server: smtp.office365.com on port 587, STARTTLS, normal password authentication, User Name = email address.

If you have two-step verification on the account, create an app password and use that instead of the regular account password.

P.S. What is 'Owl?' Why should I pay for it? I thought Thunderbird was free.

Got it, I hope. I was using the POP3 setting. Thank you

You can use POP if you like. Same incoming server but port 995. Note you can't change between POP and IMAP by just changing the server settings - you need to add the account again.
