Image files open in a tab rather than downloading

I'm on a website that has image files to be downloaded by clicking a button rather than displaying an image. I want to download this image file to the iOS 'Files' app.

- I click the button - A new tab opens in Firefox iOS - The image loads in the new tab

Is this the correct behaviour for image files? I was expecting that the 'Downloads' sheet would open rather than a tab with the image.

Second problem is that I want the image to go to the iOS 'Files' app, so I do the following:

- Long tap the image - Choose 'Share' - Look through the list of apps I can open the image with - iOS 'Files' is not amongst them

The outcome I want is to be able to:

- Click the image download button - Have the image download - Have the option to save the file to iOS 'Files'

thanks!

James
