Is there a sync history to recover from?

Posted

Whole profile got corrupted due to Firefox crashing the whole system.

Is there any history in Firefox Sync cloud? If not, I think it would be reasonable to have backups of everyone's profiles for 1-3 days.

If not, I turned off networking for my phone and have the logins I saved today in the Firefox app. How can I extract the logins(.json)?

There is no Sync history available. If you have already uploaded this change to the Sync server then try to change the password of the Sync account to reset all data on the Sync server and then first connect the phone using the new password to get this data stored on the Sync server give it at least a day if you have a lot of data. Once this is done then disconnect the phone and connect the computer to see whether this gives you the passwords.

Because you can't create a backup on the phone and can't access the profile folder maybe best is to take a screenshot on the phone of the passwords on beforehand just to be sure.

Screenshotting hundreds of passwords one by one (as I don't remember exactly what I changed today) isn't very feasible.

Changing the password (at least by knowing the old password) did not reset the passwords synced in the cloud.

Though cleaning/deleting sync data works.
