How can I get better video playback? When I view a video on a website, the video is notchy, or freezes and then plays. Can't seem to fix the problem. Can someone help? Thank you.

Does the video play better when you are running in Firefox Safe Mode?

If the video plays better in Safe Mode, it could be something to do with hardware acceleration. Disabling hardware acceleration may help.

Hi Westley, thank you for your reply. When I start Firefox in safe mode, it makes no difference. I have been running Firefox with hardware acceleration disabled for some time now. When I try and ENABLE hardware acceleration, that also makes no difference. Any suggestions? Thank you. The website where the video's freeze momentarily and then run in a notchy fashion is Packers News.com. It is part of the Milwaukee Journal sentinel newspaper website. But, I believe you can access Packers News .com by itself. Thank you, Westley.

I checked some videos on Packersnews.com - they did run horribly, yet their ads run smoothly. I suspect something with the way their CDN is routing the stream (inducing latency), or server load. Unfortunately it does not seem that buffering ahead is possible by pausing the video playback.

crankygoat, Thank you for your reply. So, it seems there is nothing I can do to resolve the problem? And, evidently the problem is with the website? Is this correct, crankygoat? Thank you.
