Multiple requests sent while using a proxy

Hello It seems that, when using a proxy like burp suite or others similar, Firefox keep sending periodically its last request since it get the answer. In this way for me is very frustrating to work with the proxy analyzing the client-server communication because it is populated with a lot of not needed requests. Is there a way to let Firefox send just one request waiting for the answer? Many thanks Federico
