When I CTRL-SHFT-D to bookmark multiple sites, the New Bookmarks box lists Bookmarks Toolbox, Bookmarks Menu and then below the separator 5 random folders.

In my experiences with this extension, it seems to remember my most used Folders or the most recently used Folders, plus it gives you a larger "view pane" to select from a long list of Folders. But with the "new" star it adds it does take a bit of time to learn how to use it effectively. Unless that extra learning time was due to my having used the older Legacy version of a similar extension for so many years ...

Actually, it is supposed to be an MRU list -- the five folders in which you most recently saved a bookmark. It shouldn't be completely random.

If you use an extension that automatically saves in bookmarks, such as certain session managers, that might lead to weird things in the list.

If you need to use a different folder, click the little button to the right of the MRU popup to open your full folder list:
