Chosen solution

Thunderbird program itself does not need a password. So, I'm not certain whether you are talking about mail account passwords or 'Master Password'.

Mail Accounts (email addresses) they use a password to access the relevant server to check for new mail and download to computer. It is the same password you would use to access the webmail account via a browser. If you cannot remember your password and it is not stored in Thunderbird, then you would need to try to logon to webmail account and use the 'Forgotten password' link in order to gain access to the webmail account where you can create a new password.

Usually, people have password manager remember those passwords so that this occurs in the background.

Passwords are stored here: Menu icon > Options > Options > Security > 'Passwords ' tab click on 'Saved Passwords' button click on 'Show Passwords' button

However, if you set up a 'Master Password' in the same place as passwords as mentioned above, then you would not get access to your saved passwords without entering the 'Master Password'. Saved passwords are not visible if you set a Master Password. If you do not know the 'Master Password' and you need to reset it, this will delete all saved passwords.

'Master Passwords' are required once per session.

If you use a product like CCleaner, then do not let it scan any Thunderbird folder or file. It is well known for cleaning up necessary files like session data and passwords etc.

I set up a new account with the same information as the old one. The reply was that this account was already active. I clicked "OK" and the request for password did not appear. Problem solved.
