As question above states, I updated FF today to latest version, which included 'Monitor'. I am currently running Win7 (64-bit). All my Favorites (about 100 or so) have completely disappeared, as well as the Toolbar. I have been thru 'Recover lost or missing Bookmarks' and other similar sections, to no avail. I have re-installed my Norton Safe Search, but all my toolbar shortcuts have also disappeared. I thought that maybe a Restore Point to a previous time may re-instate my earlier settings, but dismissed this as it won't affect the programs that are currently on my laptop. That is correct isn't it? I am at a loss as to how to retrieve this vital information. If I re-installed to the previous FF version that I upgraded from...would it re-instate my bookmarks/favorites? Can it be done? U state in your 'educated guesses' that my only plug-in is Shockwave Flash...well I also had Badger (privacy), & that is no longer on the PC. It sounds like the upgrade "zapped" everything..,

Please if anyone can help me with my problem it would be much appreciated (I'll name my next puppy after you)...

Chosen solution

Open up about:profiles (typed in the URL bar).

How many Profiles show on that page?

If you have two Profiles (or more) use Launch Profile in a new browser and see if your bookmarks are in that Profile, and your add-ons should be there, too.

And if that solve your issue, make that the Default Profile.

Jumping over 3 Firefox versions may have caused another (new) Profile to be created for Firefox 69, which Fx 69 will use - leaving the older Profile for Firefox 65 if that is still installed.

Don't even think about restoring anything thru Windows, and make the situation worse.

Hallelujah! You are a godsend mate. I had (3) profiles, (1) that couldn't be changed and the original default plus default-1. The "good guy" was the original default. I got EVERYTHING back to the point before all this happened. All saved too!!

When I upgraded there were no versions in between, just from V65 to V69. So don't know what happened there.

Nevertheless, where ever you are "calling" from, a very thankful Aussie says cheers mate. Have a good one... :)

Firefox 67 and later can use a dedicated profile for each of the Firefox update channels and will lock the profile, so it can only be used by Firefox in a specific installation folder. For Release versions this profile would be a xxxxxxxx.default-release profile, profiles used in older Firefox versions usually used a xxxxxxxx.default profile (a refresh adds a time stamp).
