hello

since last week, my saved logins have disappared. I tried with a win10 system recovery (there were 2 timestamps available): both didn't work, linked to a problem with Firefox profile (but error message doesn't show up fully so hard to see what is wrong).

Via shadowexplorer, I was able to export the following files from previous system recovery backups: key3.db key4.db & logins.json .

If I copy these to a new (or existing profile), the logins.json file is renamed to logins.json.corrupt

I have seen that there was a similar problem with AVG-users, but I run Comodo internet security premium...

Any clues how to retrieve the logins??

thx in advance!

Reboot the computer. Any help?

The files that store your login data are; key4.db & logins.json The key3.db file is no longer used.

Note: the files must have the same creation date or they will fail.

hello

no folder "old firefox"

I have several profiles in the meanwhile, because I tried downgrading to older FF versions to check whether that would solve the problem (as some reported this as a solution): in none of the profiles I can retrieve the saved logins. As soon as I copy the 2 files coming from shadowexplorer to a new (or existing profile), the logins.json file is renamed to logins.json.corrupt

logins.json and key3.db [v58+]key4.db : These are the password files. Copy Both !

Also, both require the same creation date.

all 3 have the same creation date. But from the moment that I copy them and start up FF, the logins.json is renamed into "logins.json.corrupt"

The logins.json and key4.db files do come from the same Windows System Restore point ?

You do not need key.3 db unless this is a very old restore point and in that case you need to remove an existing key4.db file.

yes, logins.json & key4.db come from the same restore point and have same creation date... And from the moment that I try to work in another profile, the logins.json gets corrupt. (and logins are not saved).

in the meanwhile, I have 6 profiles and in all the logins.json is renamed logins.json.corrupt

You can boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
